Rebel Wilson Recalls ‘Freak Accident’ on the Set of ‘Bride Hard’ That Almost Left Her ‘Permanently Disfigured’: There Was a ‘Pool of Blood’

Rebel Wilsonhad a bloody accident while filming her new action comedy “Bride Hard.”

In a recent interview withAccess Hollywood, Wilson recalled a “massive injury” she sustained during the production of her new film, which resulted from a mishap in fight scene choreography.

“In a fight scene, a gun accidentally got whacked across my face,” Wilson said. “It was just a freak accident, and my nose got split open, so I left set. It was really my last night of shooting. I was like, ‘How unlucky can I be?'”Popular on VarietyRelated StoriesThe 40+ Best Father's Day Gifts for Men: From Sonos Speakers to Cashmere Socks

She went on to say that the accident, which occurred during “the last fight sequence” on the shooting schedule, resulted in a “pool of blood.”

“I was freaking out,” she added. “They take an ambulance and they have to call a plastic surgeon, because if they didn’t, I would have been permanently disfigured. So we got the plastic surgeon, they did all the stitches, and you can’t tell now, really, you can’t tell.”

Helmed by “Con Air” director Simon West, “Bride Hard” follows a wedding taken over by a group of mercenaries. What the assailants don’t know is that the “maid of honor is actually a secret agent ready to rain hellfire upon anyone who would ruin her best friend’s wedding,” according to an official description.

Along with Wilson, the film stars Anna Camp, Anna Chlumsky, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Gigi Zumbado, Sherry Cola and Stephen Dorff.

In herVarietyreviewof “Bride Hard,” Courtney Howard wrote of the film, “Though a bit rough in its execution, made worse by janky visual effects in the third act, the film is buoyed by the gentle comedic charms of the ensemble, sweet thematic resonance and Jackie Chan-style stuntwork.”

Nick Cave Did Not Want to Read Morrissey’s ‘Silly Anti-Woke Screed’ for New Song

Nick CavesaidMorrisseyrecently contacted him with an offer to provide vocals on a new song of his. It’s something Cave, alongtime fan, said he “would have been happy to do,” were it not for the fact that Morrissey wasn’t asking him to sing a verse or provide backing vocals, but intro the track with “an unnecessarily provocative” spoken-word speech.

Responding to a fan question on his“Red Hand Files” websiteregarding his relationship with Morrissey, Cave said the former Smiths frontman reached out to him last year about the song via email. Cave called the track “quite lovely,” but said it “began with a lengthy and entirely irrelevant Greek bouzouki intro.” (A bouzouki is a long-necked string instrument.)

Over this instrumental intro, Cave continued, Morrissey wanted him to deliver a “slightly silly anti-woke screed [Morrissey] had written.” Cave did not share any details about the salvo, and even admitted, “I suppose I agreed with the sentiment on some level.” But, he said, “it just wasn’t my thing,” so he “politely declined” the offer.

“I try to keep politics, cultural or otherwise, out of the music I am involved with,” Cave said. “I find that it has a diminishing effect and is antithetical to whatever it is I am trying to achieve.”Trending StoriesTrump’s Military Birthday Parade Was a Gross FailureInternet Trolls Around the World Are Mocking Trump’s Military Birthday Parade‘Superman’ Director James Gunn: ‘You Don’t Want Everyone to Root for You’Trump Parade Turnout Swamped by Millions Who Protested at 'No Kings' Rallies

Despite not knowing what exactly Morrissey had written for Cave, it’s not exactly difficult to imagine. Over the past few years, Morrissey has regularly courted controversy with some of hismore far-right views, especially over immigration. Since he released his last solo album, 2020’sI Am Not a Dog on a Chain, Morrissey hasteased severalfollow-ups, but none have been released yet. In an interview last year, Morrissey claimed thatone LP had been “gagged”and “idiot culture” was preventing its release.

Even without new music, though, Morrissey has remained busy on the road. Hecompleted a run of North American showsearlier this spring, and just kicked off a European trek that’ll stretch through August. He has another leg of North American concerts scheduled for September and October.

Motel Du Capwill be the band’s first full length release since 2018’sGeneration Rx. In 2020, Good Charlotte released the single “Last December.” Since then, band leaders and brothers Joel and Benji Madden have focused onvarious business venturesoutside of music, including livestream platform Veeps, Joel’s Artist Friendly podcast, and an entire artist management company MDDN.

Earlier this year, Good Charlotte seemingly began to tease the new project on social media when they shared acryptic videofeaturing old clips from the band’s early days. “GC 2025,” the caption read. Since then, Good Charlotte have announced multiple festival appearances for 2025, including Ocean’s Calling and Aftershock. Johnny Marr Backs Kneecap Ahead of Glastonbury Fest: ‘Oppression Fears Artistic Expression’

Johnny Marrvoiced his support forKneecapahead of their upcoming performance at Glastonbury, which comes as the Belfast hip-hop trio has facedwaves of criticism for their support of Palestine.

“I’ve played Glastonbury many times and the festival has always had a political aspect,” the former Smiths guitarist said. “It was founded as a place of free expression and political activism and it’s a fact that I agreed to play there with the Smiths in 1984 purely because to do so at the time was a political act.”

He continued: “Oppression fears artistic expression. I respect all musicians who use their platform to speak out against injustice, who promote compassion and equality and give voice to the voiceless. I stand with my audience and fellow musicians who call for an immediate end to the atrocities and a free Palestine.”

Marr said he felt compelled to share his statement after “learning that calls have been made forKneecapto be censored during their Glastonbury set.”

Kneecap have claimed to be the target of a “smear campaign” ever since theirperformance at Coachella in April, where the group broadcast a message onstage that read, “Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people,” and, “It is being enabled by the U.S. government who arm and fund Israel despite their war crimes.”

In the aftermath, Kneecap faced a wide array of criticism (including remarks fromSharon OsbourneandJohnny Rotten), and MC Mo Chara (real name Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh) was evencharged with a terror offensefor allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag and yelling “up Hamas, up Hezbollah,” as well as, “The only good Tory is a dead Tory,” at a London concert in 2024. (Ó hAnnaidh is expected to appear in court on June 18.)

Kneecap denied the latter allegation, claiming video of the incident was “deliberately taken out of all context.” At a festival gig in London not long after the charge was brought,Ó hAnnaidh told the crowdthat he believed the charge against him was accelerated “because Glastonbury is just around the corner,” adding, “They’re trying to silence us from speaking on stage at Glastonbury the way we did at Coachella. That’s a fact.”Trending StoriesTrump’s Military Birthday Parade Was a Gross FailureInternet Trolls Around the World Are Mocking Trump’s Military Birthday Parade‘Superman’ Director James Gunn: ‘You Don’t Want Everyone to Root for You’Zak Starkey on Being Fired, Rehired, and Fired Again by the Who: ‘These Guys are F-ckin’ Insane’

Several U.K. politicianshave called for Kneecap to be removed from future festival lineups, including Glastonbury and TRNSMT in Glasgow, Scotland. (Kneecapwere booted from the latter festival“due to concerns expressed by the police about safety at the event.”) And just last week, DJ/producer Toddla T, who worked with Kneecap on their 2024 album,Fine Art,claimedthat a cohort of music industry players, led by “a very systemically powerful music agent,” had contacted Glastonbury “urging them to remove Kneecap from the lineup.”

As it stands, Kneecap is still scheduled to perform June 28 on the West Holts Stage. The BBC has also previously said that it will not remove Kneecap from its coverage of Glastonbury.
