Ayman Odeh, an Arab-Israeli member of the Knesset, has condemned what he said was a lack of public shelters in some neighborhoods in Israel, especially in Arab-dominated areas.
Odeh said on social media platform X that he visited Tamra, a city where he said Iranian attacks killed four women and injured dozens others.
"The state, unfortunately, still distinguishes between blood and blood," Odeh said on X, after touring the city of 37,000 predominantly Arab residents.
The lawmaker said that some 60% of "local authorities," the Israeli term for mostly Arab-Israeli communities not officially registered as cities, lack public shelters.
"Tamra is not a village. It is a city without public shelters," Odeh said.
Arab-Israelis are Palestinians who stayed in what is nowIsraelafter its 1948 creation. They make up some 20% of the population.
Israelhas struck an Iranian refueling aircraft at eastern Iran's Mashhad Airport on Sunday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.
The IDF described the attack as its longest-range one since it began striking Iran earlier this week. It added that the Israeli air force was working to achieve "air superiority" over Iran.
Iranian media reported Israeli attacks on the city of Mashhad, which is home to the Imam Reza shrine, Iran's holiest site for Shiite Muslims.
US PresidentDonald Trumptold ABC News that "it's possible we could get involved" in the conflict between Israel and Iran.
Trump nevertheless stressed that Washington was not "at this moment" involved.
The US president added that he would be "open" to mediation by Russian PresidentVladimir Putin.
"He is ready. He called me about it. We had a long talk about it, " ABC News quoted him as telling Rachel Scott.
Russia's embassy in Tehran said that it is considering evacuating Russian citizens from Iran by land route, according to a report by the Russian state news agency RIA, which cites the embassy.
According to the report, the embassy said that there have been no casualties or injuries among Russian citizens in Iran.
Russia and Iran do not share a land border. Azerbaijan is located between them.
Israel's military wrote in a statement that air raid sirens had sounded "in several areas across Israel following the identification of missiles from Iran toward the state of Israel."
The Israeli Defense Forces were "operating to intercept and strike where necessary to eliminate the threat," it said, calling on people in the country to stay near shelters.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out attacks on 80 targets in Tehran, spokesperson Effi Defrin said in a press conference, and more than 250 targets in total.
He said one of those targets wasIran's nuclear headquarters.
According to Defrin, the IDF is still carrying out attacks in the Iranian capital while having also been active inYemen'scapital, Sanaa.
Media reports in Israel said the attack in Yemen had targeted seniorHouthifigure Muhammad Abd Al-Karim Al-Ghamari, with the attack's outcome still unknown.
Cyprus PresidentNikos Christodoulideshas called an extraordinary meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council to discuss the most recent developments in the region. He also called on all sides to refrain from escalating the conflict.
"It is not possible for the EU to claim a geopolitical role, to see all these developments and for there not to be at the very least a convening of the Council of Foreign Ministers," Christodoulides told journalists on Sunday.
Christodoulides also said Iran had asked his country to convey "some messages" to Israel without specifying their nature.
He is expected to speak to Israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahulater today.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog visited the scene where an Iranian missile had hit a neighborhood in the Tel Aviv suburb of Bat Yam, resulting in six people being killed.
"The Iranians have been calling for our destruction for years," Herzog said, calling the current situation "an important chapter of our history."
"I'm sure the day after will be a lot better, also in terms of our place in the Middle East," Herzog said, while also appealing to the international community.
"Do you want calm? GetIran's nuclear abilitiesout the window."
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Israel's airstrike on a major gas facility was likely aimed to "expand the war beyond Iranian territory."
In comments carried by the IRNA news agency, Araghchi labeled the move "extremely dangerous."
Araghchi also said Israel's strikes on nuclear sites "crossed a new red line" and showed that Israel "does not want negotiations and does not seek diplomacy" regardingnuclear negotiations.
The Iranian top diplomat also said his country would stop its missile attacks on Israel should the Israeli army's attacks stop.

The Israeli military told Iranians living near weapon facilities across the country to evacuate the area.
"For your safety, we ask you to evacuate immediately and refrain from returning until further notice," military spokesperson Avichay Adraee posted on his X account in both Arabic and Persian.
This comes after a night of Israeli airstrikes on military targets in Iran.
The death toll as a result of overnight Iranian strikes onIsraelhas risen to 10, authorities said.
Six of the victims were in the Tel Aviv suburb of Bat Yam, and the other four were killed in the northern town of Tamra.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog said the country is facing a "sad, utmost difficult morning."
"Our brothers and sisters were murdered and injured as a result of criminal Iranian attacks against [the] civilian population in Bat Yam, Tamra and other places," Herzog posted on his X account.
Thirteen Israelis have been killed since the beginning of the escalation between Israel and Iran.

The Yemen-basedHouthi rebel groupsaid it had launched several missiles at Israel, saying the attacks were "coordinated with the operations carried out" bytheir main backer, Iran.
The group said it had shot at "sensitive targets of the Israeli enemy" on several occasions over the past 24 hours.
Israeli military officials told theTimes of Israelthat they are unaware of any attacks fromYemenwithin that time frame.
The Israeli army said on Sunday morning it had completed another round of airstrikes in western Iran.
In a statement on social media, the Israeli army said it attacked "infrastructure for storing and launching missiles."
US PresidentDonald Trumpthreatened to react with "the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces" should Iran attack any US target.
"The US had nothing to do with the attacks carried out on Iran tonight," Trump posted on his Truth Social account.
"If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before."
This comes after Iran previously threatened to hit US targets in the region as part of the ongoing conflict with Israel.
According to Trump, an agreement between Israel and Iran, which would end the conflict between the two sides, can "easily" be done.
The death toll from an Iranian strike on Bat Yam in centralIsraelhas risen to four, Israeli media report.
A boy and a girl as well as two women were killed, Israel's emergency service Magen David Adom said.
So far, around 100 people are reported injured at Bat Yam, a city just south of Tel Aviv in central Israel.
Several of the injured are critically wounded.
Some 35 people are still missing at Bat Yam, according to the Home Front Command, after a strike on a residential building.
Rescuers fear the building could collapse, reports Times of Israel.
Dozens of other people are also injured in a separate strike nearby Rehovot, 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Tel Aviv.
This includes two who are critically wounded.
